Zeta watches everything and says almost nothing, which is how she gets away with so much.

She is deep in thought roughly all of the time, and the thought is usually about how to get you to do what she wants. She has never once had to ask twice. Doors, laps, and the exact timing of dinner are all, in her view, negotiable — and she is the one negotiating.

The Name

Zeta bears the name of the Riemann Zeta function, one of the most important unsolved problems in mathematics. The function searches for zeros—the values where it equals zero—a question with profound implications for number theory and the distribution of prime numbers. In a household filled with minds that think in patterns and probabilities, that search for hidden structures and meaningful connections, Zeta was always the obvious name. She is the searcher, the one who watches and thinks and finds what others miss. Half the household's namesake, and the mathematical heart of Zetaropy.
